  BACKGROUND» Ever since he was a child, Adrien has had the "gift" of sight; the abbility to see things that humans are usually unable to see with the naked eye. This mainly manifests in his abbility to see and communicate with spirits, but also makes him incredibly senstive to magic and supernatural presences in general. As a child he did not understand that what he saw was not normal, but most people wrote it off as an overly active imagination. All children have imaginary friends, after all. As he grew older it all seemed to fade, leading Adrien himself to believe it had never been there in the first place.
  Shortly after graduating high school, however, a car crash turned everything upside down. It cost one of his best friends his life, but Adrien miraculously survived. While being hospitalized Adrien kept having awful dreams, hearing and seeing things that others didn't and just feeling as if he had somehow become a stranger in the world he had been living in for his entire life. It was brushed off again, this time as trauma after the accident, but as Adrien attempted to move on with his life it became clear that it was not going to pass. After several years and even more therapists Adrien accepted that this was something he would have to live with.
  It was not until his college years that he met someone who made him believe that he was not slowly going insane and got the help that he needed to develope his skills. Juggling college and all the strange things he saw and heard was not easy, however, and by the time he had graduated it had become more of a curse than anythign else. His life has been a bit of a rolercoaster since then, with signifigantly fewer ups than downs. He has a hard time socializing, keeping a job and often scrambles to make his life work.

  PERSONALITY» As one might imagine, Adrien is not the most upbeat person. He tries his very best to stay positive, however, and usually he comes off as fairly open, friendly and laid back. He has a scathingly sarcastic humor, which only gets worse when he is in a pinch. He is rather level-headed, though, and able to think his way out of most problems he faces. When it comes to people he tends not to let anyone in too close. He has very few friends and is not particularly interested in having more, since it is a lot of work for him to maintain friendships. Ultimately he is a compassionate soul and is very likely to help others out, even complete strangers, if they need him to. He keeps his own problems to himself, however, and rarely appreciates others trying to get involved in them. Adrien has a tendency to drink a little too much, but it is something he has been able to keep to himself since he never gets outright drunk in the company of others - unless it is at an appropriate time, of course.

  APPEARANCE» Being of just above average height but possessing a somewhat lithe built, Adrien doesn't cut a very imposing figure. Instead he looks rather lanky, with his long limbs and wiry frame. His skin is a warm light brown and he has trace of freckles covering most of his face as well as his shoulders. There are several scars to be found around his body, but the most prominent one is on his back; a rather nasty one he got from his car crash. It hasn't healed well, so he has tried to somewhat cover it up with a series of symmetrical tattoos that run down his spine, beginning just below the nape of his neck and ending at the small of his back. Adrien's eyes are of a dark brown colour and there are dark circles to be found under them more often than not. His hair is dark brown as well. It is kept long, even if it is a bit frizzy and unruly, but usually pulled back in a loose bun for practicality. He is faintly nearsighted and will wear glasses once in a blue moon to alleviate his eyes.
